I obtained my BSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Bilkent University in 2015. During my PhD thesis at Koc University, I identified several epigenetic mechanisms that safeguard somatic cell identity. During my postdoc, I worked on another chromatin pathway, whose inhibition increases the efficiency of human somatic cell reprogramming into iPSC. During my second postdoc at Helmholtz Zentrum Munich, I studied the interplay between epigenetics and epitranscriptomics. My third postdoc was at Hebrew University of Jerusalem for eight months. After this, I joined the Lack Lab in March 2026. Outside the lab, I enjoy both reading and writing literary works.
